jake can't jump (alpha)
Hey, thanks for checking out my game jake can't jump, a challenging jump puzzle platformer without a jump button!
Instead it has a unique shoot and pull mechanic where your projectiles serve both to fling you across the level and to hit target objects, requirering mastering of precision and momentum to succeed.
The game is in early stages of development, with placeholder art, missing animations and more game mechanics + levels planned.
Feedback is highly appreciated <3
save and load is not implemented for this web build, but you can easily skip levels by going to the pause menu and select "skip level"
I highly recommend playing in fullscreen

You accidentally left a debug button in! (It's the E key.)
Also, being off-tab makes Jake clip through the floor, making it possible to kill him just by writing a comment while playing this!
Finally, it's possible for the game to ignore my right clicks completely; this kept happening at the bottom of the tutorial level, at the section which taught me about checkpoints. Note: I am playing on a laptop with a touchpad, and I am using the right mouse button on that.
Hey thanks for giving feedback :)
I pushed a new build with fixes!
I think the clipping was happening because of jumps in fps when the game didnt have focus. I hope the new build fixes this by clamping the deltatime.
Regarding the right click not working, could it be because you didnt have more energy (the yellow bar) when you tried to click it? You only get two jumps before landing again. If there is a line from jake to the projectile it means you can jump.
Anyways thanks for testing the game! Im working on a complete overhaul of graphics and gameplay, you can see the progress here: https://bsky.app/profile/rhoeb.bsky.social
Nice game just a little nitpick: make font bigger its hard to read when combined with ctr shader
thanks for the feedback. Yeah I agree it's not easy to read. I'm considering removing the crt shader entirely
